London, roll out your mat
Stretch, flex and downward dog alongside the rescue pugs you’re directly supporting.
New dates: Pug Rescue Yoga runs at CuppaPug London for three weeks, with sessions only on 7, 14 and 21 October, from 7pm to 8.15pm. It’s a proper 45-minute class, taught for every level, in a room full of pugs who will absolutely walk under you mid-plank. Then the mats go away and the cuddles begin.
Your teacher
A professional dancer who has performed in shows all over the world, and a trained yoga teacher who makes it feel easy.
Meagan Chase has danced since she was six and moved to London on her own to do it for a living. Movement is her whole life, so yoga was a natural fit. She trained as a teacher in 2020 and has taught alongside her dance career ever since, blending breathwork, mobility and strength in classes that welcome every level.
“I keep the practice relaxed so the pugs have plenty of chances to join you on your mat, wander about or just come over for cuddles.”
Meagan
75 minutes, three parts
Meagan starts with a few minutes of breathwork so everyone can arrive, slow down and get comfy on their mat. The pugs will be having a sniff around.
A very gentle Hatha-style flow for every level, mats provided. The moves are simple, beginner-friendly and easy to follow, and the pace is deliberately relaxed so the pugs can wander, snooze, join you on your mat or come over for cuddles.
Mats away, pugs on laps. Half an hour of pug time with a refreshing superfruit smoothie to finish.
Where the money goes
£0£7,000
Smudge’s operation
Our very first Pug Rescue Yoga event raises vital funds towards Smudge’s £7,000 operation. This is not a donation bucket by the door. The class itself is the fundraiser, and the pugs in the room are the ones you’re supporting.
Warm-up
Meagan warms up and gets to know the grumble before class. Expect a lot of sniffing, a little grunting and pugs who have zero respect for her personal space. Sound optional; the grunting is not.
Your class companions
Resident and rescue pugs share the room, so the class doubles as time with pugs who are still looking for their forever homes.
The essentials
Yoga mat, superfruit smoothie and pugs all included in the £35 ticket.
